ABOUT US
Our Story
Welcome to Stone Bridge Herbal!
Stone Bridge Herbal is a mother and daughter journey rooted in the Eastern Cape highlands of South Africa. We're Fiona and Emma Sephton, a mother and daughter team running a women-owned, women-run business born from our shared passion for the environment, the grasslands we call home, and the indigenous flora that surrounds us.

Every day, we drive over the sandstone bridge that gives our company its name. And every day, we see Artemisia Afra (Mhlonyane, Lengana, Wilde Als, African Wormwood) growing wild in the veld around us. This plant, with its silvery leaves and distinctive aroma, has been part of this landscape for generations.

Our grandmothers knew artemisia as a rather bitter medicinal tea, brewed when needed and respected for its healing properties. Through years of research and experimentation, we've honored that traditional knowledge while transforming it into a delicious, smooth-tasting beverage for the modern world. What was once endured for its benefits is now enjoyed for its taste and wellness properties.

Stone Bridge Herbal is our way of making a difference in our community. We're working to show that indigenous plants can be conserved, cultivated, and commercially developed in ways that benefit local people, especially women. We've spent years researching and experimenting to transform this traditional remedy into a high-quality tea that meets modern food safety standards while staying true to its origins.

We're proud to offer tea that has a sense of place, that tastes of these grasslands, this climate, this particular corner of South Africa. When you drink our tea, you're connecting with knowledge passed down through generations and with the landscape we're working to protect.
Thank you for choosing Stone Bridge Herbal.
